Mobile pantries were up and running on Wednesday for Granite Staters who receive food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. These mobile food pantries were created because of the federal government shutdown and are only for those who receive SNAP benefits. In Manchester, Families in Transition also had a big turnout, with the line out the door. Gov. Kelly Ayotte said $2 million is earmarked for the mobile food pantries as the government shutdown continues and SNAP benefits have not been restored.
