More buses needed.
The Manchester School District says they are bringing student transportation in-house after previously relying on outside contractors, which led to delays and canceled routes. But the district now needs to buy up to 10 more school buses after learning that the Manchester Transit Authority had been providing buses for athletic charters and other extracurricular activities. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Gillis said funding for the buses will be ready soon. The district hopes to have a finalized purchase plan for the school board’s approval at its Sept. 9 meeting, which is open to the public.
