Manchester has a new mayor. Republican Jay Ruais beat Kevin Cavanaugh by less than 500 votes. Ruais spoke to a packed room at the Derryfield Country Club Tuesday night and said it’s been an honor to run. Now, he said the attention turns to governing and what he ran his campaign on, which is change.
Concord gets a new mayor as well for the first time in 16 years – Bryan Champlin easily winning that race after Jim Bouley stepped down. In Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess won reelection over challenger Michael Soucy.
