CONCORD, N.H.- Johsua Nye, the director of the Sununu Youth Services Center has resigned from his position.

Govenror Kelly Ayotte made the announcement Wednesday when speaking with members of the media.

Nye’s exit comes a day after the subcommittee tasked with investigating and reviewing reports of abuse and neglect called for his resignation.

According to the committee’s report the center is in need of not only new leadership, but better incident documentation, a review of camera operations and staff training. The report also calls for the Office of the Child Advocate to have greater oversight authority.

Prior to Nye’s resignation DCYF Director Marie Noonan testifed last week that “many” of the claims of abuse made against the facility were false.
