Authorities in New Hampshire say a police officer was shot in the arm during an exchange of gunfire with a man inside a home and that the man was later found dead.
Authorities said a second officer had fired a gun in the house in Weare on Thursday. The 27-year-old officer who was hit was taken to the hospital where he awaited surgery and was expected to recover. The shootings happened at about 1:50 a.m.
Police said SWAT teams assembled around the home on Buckley Road. The man, later identified as 43-year-old Jeffrey Clough-Garvin, was found dead inside at about 8:30 a.m. An autopsy was planned.
Authorities said the Weare officers wore body cameras and the video will be retrieved and examined.
