MANCHESTER, N.H.- Authorities say one person was safely taken into custody Tuesday morning out of an hours long standoff in Pittsburg that began out of a report of a domestic assault.
According to police around 10:45 p.m. Monday night State Troopers responded to the scene and ended up calling in support from Board Patrol agents, and once agents arrived on scene a gunshot was heard which led to additional officers including members of the SWAT team being called in.
Around 4:15 Tuesday morning authorities ended up taking Derrick Chase,32, into custody after he surrendered to police following a lengthy standoff in which he barricaded himself inside a garage.
Following his arrest Chase was charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, along with misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, and obstructing the report of a crime or injury.
Chase ended up refusing the services of a bail commissioner and was then taken to the Coos County Department of correction ahead of his arraignment which was scheduled for Tuesday morning.
