MANCHESTER, N.H., – A judge has handed down a ruling in a speeding case against Rep. Ellen Read D- Newmarket in a case that’s gain attention after the lawmaker originally claimed she wasn’t subject to the penalty of law due to the fact she is a lawmaker.
On Friday Judge Todd Prevett handed down the ruling and explained he came to his decision due to fact that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to determine if the State Trooper who pulled Read over had used their radar gun accurately.
The controversy over Read’s actions came after she was pulled over twice and each time claimed that she should not have been pulled over, due to a state law that says lawmakers cannot be arrested going to and from the State House.
