On April 28, 2021 Manchester Police arrested 48 year old Cornelius Stanley on an active warrant in connection with a motor vehicle pursuit.

The incident dates back to January 16, 2021 when a Manchester Police Officer pulled a vehicle over on Manchester St for a traffic violation. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver sped off. The officer pursued the vehicle with blue lights and sirens engaged. The driver was going well over the posted speed limit and weaving in and out of traffic. For safety reasons, the pursuit was called off.

Through the investigation, the officer was able to identify the driver as Cornelius Stanley of Manchester. Police learned that Stanley’s license was suspended and he was certified as a Habitual Offender.

Litchfield Police took Stanley into custody on the outstanding warrant. He is charged with Felony Reckless Conduct, Operating after Certification as a Habitual Offender, also a Felony, and Disobeying a Police Officer (M).

Stanley was scheduled for arraignment today (4/29/21).
