BOW, N.H- No injuries were reported after a tractor trailer crashed into a propane truck which led to the temporary closure of Interstate 93.
According to State Police a little after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon troopers responded to a crash near mile marker 33 in Bow. An on-site investigation showed that a Freightliner propane truck driven by Donald Filteau, of Bedford, was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer driven by Utkir Rakhimov, 45, of Southington, Connecticut.
Due to the impact the 63-year-old Filteau lost control of the Propane truck, causing it veer off the right side of the interstate and roll onto its side, igniting a small brush fire and also leaking propane.
At the moment State Police have to comment as to the exact amount of propane lost due to the leak, but authorities note the tanker was carrying around 128 gallons at the time of the accident.
While no injuries were reported authorities ended up closing both the north and south bound lanes of I-93 to ensure the safety of both Emergency personnel on site and other drivers in the area.
As the investigation into the crash continues State Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information, they feel will help authorities to contact Trooper Jacob Plourde at Jacob.J.Plourde@dos.nh.gov or (603) 223-4381.
