Manchester police have received multiple reports of a scam currently circulating in the area. A caller, using a blocked number, is claiming to be a lieutenant with the Manchester Police Department. The caller tells residents they’ve “failed to appear” in court and then tries to collect personal information, including Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
This is a scam.
The Manchester Police Department will never contact you by phone to demand personal information.
Do not provide any personal information. If you receive a call or voicemail like this, hang up and contact the Manchester Police Department directly to verify any claims at 603-668-8711.
