On June 25, 2020, a Massachusetts man was arrested by the Merrimack Police Department and charged with one count of simple assault on a police officer.
At approximately 5:50 p.m., Merrimack Police responded to the parking lot of the Merrimack Central Fire Station for the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with a male who was identified as Raymond Clermont. While speaking with Clermont, he indicated to the officers that he was looking for a ride to friend’s residence and then requested that he be transported to a local hospital.
While the officers were preparing to give Clermont a ride to a local hospital, he suddenly pushed one of the officers in the chest with both hands. Clermont was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of simple assault on a police officer.
Raymond Clermont was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear before the Merrimack 9th Circuit Court on July 27, 2020, to answer to the above charge.
