CONCORD, N.H.- Gov. Kelly Ayotte says her administration is working on a response after a federal judge Tuesday issued an order that says vehicle inspections in the Granite State will continue for the time being.

On Wednesday Governor Ayotte said she understands people could be upset that Judge Landya McCafferty has paused the repeal of mandated state auto inspections.

“I understand as well, people haven’t gotten their cars inspected, and people don’t want to be driving on the roads and feel like they’re being stopped in light of this court ruling, so I’ve asked the attorney general to work with the commissioner of safety on how they’re going to treat this situation,” Ayotte said.

Following Tuesday’s decision Attorney General John Formella addressed the State’s Executive Council and said that drivers should not assume anything about future inspections until his office meets with state agency officials and provides advice and guidance to the public in short order.
