CONCORD, N.H.- Citizens both for and against bills which would separate people by the sex listed on their birth certificate in public places, such as bathrooms and locker rooms appeared at the State House this week with the hope of convincing Gov. Kelly Ayotte to act on the looming legislation in their favor.

Wednesday a group of Republican women lawmakers, including Lisa Mazur, R-Goffstown; Rep. Erica Layon, R-Derry gathered in front of the women’s bathroom on the second floor of the State House and addressed supporters in hopes that the Governor would sign both Senate Bill 522 and House Bill 1442. While LGBTQ advocates and opponents of the bill Tuesday delivered flowers and cards to Ayotte’s office to thank her for her previous vetoes and urged her to once again reject the proposed legislation.

The questions remains whether or not Governor Kelly Ayotte will sign either piece of legislation, as she previously vetoed prior versions of similar legislation on two different occasions.
