The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Lyme as severe thunderstorms moved through the area Tuesday evening. No one was hurt but there was a lot of damage. The tornado was classified as an EF1 with maximum winds of 110 mph and it was on the ground for 1.8 miles.
In Milford, it’s been confirmed that a microburst, which is an intense downdraft in a thunderstorm, struck damaging 7 homes and over 150 trees.
