Two people with ties to the Granite State aboard ship hit by Hantavirus

CONCORD, N.H. – Health officials say two people with New Hampshire addresses were aboard the MV Hondius when the ship was hit by an outbreak of the deadly Hantavirus.

On Monday officials with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services confirm the report of the passengers live in the Granite State but note at the moment there is no immediate threat locally, as no one who was on the ship has to yet to return to the state.

As it stands the two individuals are believed to be undergoing medical evaluations in Nebraska.

News of the local impact comes after three people died in connection to the outbreak, and six people with confirmed cases of the Hantavirus are under quarantine, according to the World Health Organization.
