Monday night’s Toby Keith tribute in Nashville had a lot of highlights . . . but a lowlight would be Toby’s tribute to red Solo cups . . . at least as it was performed by Tyler Hubbard.
Tyler took on “Red Solo Cup”, and asked the audience to sing along, but about halfway through he completely blanked on the lyrics.
Maybe he just got caught up in the moment, because he stopped the song . . . and re-started the verse, with the correct lyrics. So it seemed like he knew them, he just got lost and tripped up.
Still, even Tyler admitted it needed to be right . . . because, quote, “We can’t do Toby like this.” Fortunately, Toby probably wouldn’t have cared. He never took that song seriously, and once called it, “the stupidest song I ever heard.”
