Woman Falls Through the Ice and Drowns

The body of an Atkinson woman who drowned after falling through the ice on Big Island Pond has been recovered. Fish and Games says 56-year-old Emer Mezzetti was found in about 16 feet of water, 30 yards from the shore. State Police Marine Patrol said Saturday evening, first responders were called to Chase Island Road in Atkinson for someone yelling for help. Marine Patrol said they believe she was out for a walk when she fell through the ice.
