Are you screwing up your kids?

HOW TO SCREW UP YOUR KIDS!  (These are not my personal opinions, but thought they were interesting)

Parenting is not easy, but at least you can make up for your mistakes. Try to avoid these:

• You’re obsessed with getting your kid into Harvard. Kids that are under tremendous pressure to succeed from their parents have higher rates of drug use, petty crime, and depression

• You’re rude to the overworked waitress at Ruby Tuesday. You can lecture all day about manners, but it’s what you do in front of them that matters.

• You think your kid is the next LeBron James. Pushing your child into year ’round training puts them in danger of injury, or they’ll want to quit before they reach their potential.

• You let your kids quit everything. Kids need to exercise at least an hour a day with no more than two hours of screen time.

• You let them post on Instagram and then you stalk them. Young people use social media as a primary place to hang out. Yes, there’s cruelty, but learning to cope with it can teach kids important skills.

• Your marriage makes the ones in Game of Thrones look healthy. A messy marriage leads to long lasting damage for your kids. Kids need a supportive , stimulating environment to develop the skills they need later in life.
