Winter is here! Is your car ready? We have a few tips to pass on from our experience and your great calls on New Hampshire in the Morning.
You always, always, always want to make sure you have a full tank of gas when the mercury starts dropping – never less than half. Some prefer putting in dry gas before filling up, too.
If you have a garage, use it! If not, you can put a blanket over the hood of your car to help keep the engine warm and start it every 4 to 5 hours in sub-zero temperatures. Or park it as close to your house or a building as possible. One woman suggested putting your visors down when using the defroster to make it work faster and more efficiently.
Above all, be safe and keep an extra pair of mittens and hats in your vehicle. Get your battery checked at your local dealership and mechanic before a storm to ensure that it’s working at 100%.
Stay warm!
