What People Are Talking About 12/17/14

This is kind of scary, the hacking into Sony has a lot of people up in arms.  It is amazing with all of the firewalls and protection we think we have in our cyber world, we are still vulnerable to being hacked.  The Sony hack has many calling it ‘Cyber-Terrorism’ the hackers were able to get into every corner of Sony’s digital world and exploit it.  They have lists of salaries, Social Security numbers, scripts for movies and more.  The main threat is with the new movie “The Interview” that has to do with North Korea, the hackers sent a message that pretty much told Sony not to release the movie or there could be trouble at movie theaters, the FBI is doing all they can to try and find out where the threats are coming from but it’s worse than trying to find a needle in a haystack!

Also as part of this hack, they are releasing emails from Sony executives, some that are pretty sensitive.  On of the recent emails exposed was one from Jeopardy host Alex Trebek who wasn’t happy that he had to re-cut part of a recent taping of the show because a mother of one of the teen contestants complained about the way Alex treated her daughter.  Alex threatened to quit the show if he didn’t get more support from the producers.

And maybe this is a good thing, experts are predicting that the year 2015 will be the year of Anti-Technology! They say we will put down the devices, cut back on social media and start embracing the simple life. That is hard for me to believe, but I’ll check back in next year at this time and see if we are able to give up the technology that has become part of our lives. One company has already embraced the simple life and is looking to help you quit the Tech, they have a phone that is fake for you to carry around until you are able to ween yourself totally from the real thing.  Like I said see you next year.
