What People Are Talking About 12/18/14

Not too many years ago we didn’t even know what ‘Cyber-hacking’ was, and now we are experiencing it first hand. We talked about how the hack into Sony Pictures has set the corporate world on it’s head to try and keep the hackers out and the information that has been leaked is very private. Now Sony has pulled the movie The Interview that was going to open on Christmas day.  The Interview’s plot had to do with the assassination of the North Korean leader and it appears that hackers hired by that country were the ones that infiltrated Sony’s computers and were able to stop the movie from being released. The main reason was because the Hackers threatened movie theaters with violence if it was shown, theater operators decided it would be better not to show the movie and Sony decided to just not release it. I think it is a shame that we have to back down from releasing a movie because another country or some in another country don’t want it shown. Many people said that they would have gone to see the movie even if the threats were out there. No word if the movie will be released on other platforms.

Another big topic on peoples minds is the fact that The United States has started to open up diplomatic relations with Cuba. That opens the door to possible travel to Cuba without any penalties and being able to bring some Cuban cigars back with you. It looks like you will be able to bring $400 dollars worth of items back from Cuba with you, but only $100 dollars worth of Cuban tobacco products. That equals out to about 5 high quality cigars.  Many are questioning how long until we are able to buy Cuban cigars in the states. My question is now that you can travel to Cuba, will you?
