What People Are Talking About 1/5/15

It may be a new year, but odd stuff continues to happen, and I’m here to share with you!  First up there is a new belt on the market, I’m talking about the belt that holds your pants up. The belt is called the ‘Smartbelt’ and just like it’s name says it’s smart. The belt automatically adjust to your waist when you put it on, when you eat and your belly begins to grow, yes the belt knows and lets itself out a notch or two. Not only that the belt keeps track of your health and will remind you if you have been sitting two long. This is great because nothing is more embarrassing than letting your belt out a notch or two at a fancy restaurant after your meal!

This made me a little sad when I saw the story about some cities and towns that are banning sledding, the reason? Fear of being sued! Some towns have had to pay out millions to people who crashed while sledding down a hills on public property and rather than have to deal with that they decided to just ban it. For me I feel bad for the towns that have to do this, because if someone is not smart enough to know that you don’t go down a hill with a bunch of trees or a  busy street at the bottom them they should not be able to sue! Sledding has always been a fun time for kids, and you get them out of the house to play, they get exorcise climbing up the hill dragging the sled behind them.

Who doesn’t love a trip to the spa?  A nice massage, maybe a manicure too. The growing trend for 2015 is spa’s for kids, spas are now catering to children and many are liking it. Spas are now playing kid friendly music, offering dessert scented facials and even calling a pedicure ‘Piggy Treatment’! I think it is brilliant for spas to start doing this, hook em’ young and they’ll keep coming back for life. The day at the spa has become quite popular for birthday parties, they can get pricey though, ranging from hundreds of dollars per party to thousands of dollars!
