April Broderick is one of the most outstanding women I have had the pleasure of having in my life. Not only is she a steadfast friend, always the first to lend a hand or ear when needed, but she is a shining light in the New Hampshire community. She was born and raised in Manchester and has raised a family of her own 4 daughters with her husband Patrick of 27 years. She has been a Customer Service Resolution Representative at the local phone company for 29 years. During that celebrated career she has helped countless members of the community maintain and restore their vital phone service and many have recognized her friendly positive demeaner. She served as a member of the Pioneers and on the Spirit Committee that worked to improve and celebrate employees as well as organized volunteering and charity events. These achievements alone demonstrate her commitment and dedication, but it is what she does above and beyond her day-to-day commitments that in my mind is truly outstanding. April volunteered at St. Raphael Parish food pantry for over 20 years, brightening the day of members of the community who she has served there. She is on the Board of Directors for the Suncook Lake Association, coordinating fundraising and merchandise sales. When her mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, April began to organize and volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association, team building for local Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease walks and raising money through various fundraisers throughout the years. In the 8 years she has been able to donate nearly $40,000 from her fundraising. She continues to advocate for the organization in her mother-in-law’s memory. When I think of April, I think of an outstanding woman who has dedicated her life to helping others, not only in her personal circle but in her entire community. She loves her family, she loves New Hampshire, and she is well deserving of recognition for Outstanding Woman.
