Mackenzie Murphy

“Mackenzie is a 27-year-old leader in her community and the State of NH. Mackenzie is the youngest ever elected official elected to and serving on the Merrimack Town Council and served on the Merrimack School District Budget Committee for 6 years and just got re-elected to another 3-year term where she has served as “Acting Chair” and now Vice-Chair for the past 2 years. On top of this, Mackenzie serves on the University System of NH Board of Trustees where it has served for the last 5 years. Recently, Mackenzie served a 2-year term on the Nashua PAL Board of Directors, serves on the Parks and Recreation Committee in Merrimack, serves on the Our Lady of Mercy Parish Pastoral Council and Chairs the Faith Formation Committee at her parish. She also is an altar server and Cantor at her parish. Mackenzie also serves on the SEIU 1984 Board of Directors and the Granite Advance Stewardship Advisory Committee. On top of her community’s commitments, Mackenzie serves as the Admissions Coordinator at Nashua Community College where she has secured gift cards to help our most in-need students and worked with community organizations to conduct food drives for the food pantry on campus. During the Pandemic, Mackenzie founded “Community Snacks for those who have our backs” where she conducted community snack drives to donate to first responders and hospital workers who were working day in and day out with the sickest patients. Mackenzie has also formerly served an AmeriCorps VISTA and worked in Congress as an intern, in addition to running Presidential and Congressional campaigns. Mackenzie dedicates her life to community service and is always putting others above herself. It would be my honor to nominate Mackenzie for this recognition!”
