I was honored to be one of the 2018 Outstanding Woman, this will be the first time I have nominated someone from my community.  Monica Rahilly is and always has been that unsung hero in our little corner of the world.  Monica will lend a hand with her husband Ken and family but often no one ever sees the good they do. Monica started St. Gianna’s Place in Hudson many years ago because she knew there was a need to help mom’s to-be that had no one and no place to go.  She turned her dream into a reality.  St. Gianna’s Place has helped many moms and their children get back on their feet and find a new way of life.  Monica found a house that they were able to purchase, and the stories are endless as to how many woman she and her volunteer team helped along the way.  Monica has always had a difficult time acknowledging that this was her vision and a wonderful team followed. She never seeks out praise and has always been again that humble hero behind the scenes. She is guided by her faith. Monica is always, kind, caring, thoughtful and forgiving. She never judges, which is something very usual today. Monica believes we are here to make a difference and to lift other woman up. Thank You for considering Monica Rahilly.
