Peggy Piette

Peggy Piette embodies the Girl Scout mission to make the world a better place. She is committed to helping Girl Scouts and her community as president of the board of directors for Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains (the council serving New Hampshire and Vermont.  She has been a member of that board since 2019. The council serves about 6,000 girls across New Hampshire and Vermont, with a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. She is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and was awarded the Volunteer of Excellence recognition in 2018 and the Honor Pin in 2015.  She has been involved with Girl Scouts since she was a child and spent 10 years as leader of her daughter’s troop. During that time, she served in various roles including community and district Fall Product Sales and Cookie Sales Coordinator, as well as Volunteer Support Coordinator. She has served as a community delegate at council annual meetings and was a delegate for the National Council Session in 2017 and in 2024. Besides being a Girl Scout alum, she is also a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of the USA. In addition to devoting her time to Girl Scouts, Piette works as a nurse practitioner in gastroenterology at Littleton Regional Healthcare. Prior to that she owned and operated her own nurse practitioner clinic specializing in travel medicine. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from George Washington University, completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and has an associate’s degree in nursing from the New Hampshire Community Technical College-Berlin, where she began her career over 25 years ago. She has worked as a nurse practitioner in internal medicine, university health services, international travel health, cardiology, geriatrics, and sports medicine. Piette had a travel clinic in Littleton for four years, focused on educating travelers about the vaccinations, medications, and other issues they might need to consider.  She also made sure they considered their dental care and insurance, especially for lengthy overseas stays. She encouraged travelers to take precautions for sun exposure and mosquito bites. Malaria is a big concern when traveling to some areas, especially in Asia, and antibiotic resistance can be a worry.  Piette became interested in global health at a conference where she met another health care provider doing that type of work.

Her favorite quote is by Mahatma Gandhi: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”
