Elizabeth has taught for over a decade and has put her students first every year. She has taught in the deaf and hard of hearing program and even ran an after-school club to help family members learn ASL to better communicate with their family members. She currently is working in a kindergarten class at Green Acres. She had put in countless hours making sure her students get the right resources and materials to succeed in and out of the classroom. From creating systems for individual students that help them best succeed to simply encouraging a student that they are capable of understanding what they are learning, she always has their best interest at heart. She was nominated for New Hampshire’s teacher of the year and even though she didn’t win, everyone including myself was so, so proud of her. She spends nights bringing work home to make sure that all of her students’ papers, including things such as 504’s and IEPs are correct, and her students can get the most out of each of their resources. She absolutely adores the children that she works with and treats every kid like her own. I full-heartedly believe that Mrs. Kennedy deserves to be WZID’s Teacher of the Month!
